The upcoming August 1st marks the 95th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army of China. As a responsible country, China has always been a promoter of world peace, contributor to global development, and upholder of the international order. China's armed forces resolutely deliver on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, actively participate in overseas missions such as UN peacekeeping, humanitarian aid and disaster relief, as well as ship-escorting in the Gulf of Aden and the waters off Somalia, providing a great number of public security products to the world. From sending just 5 military observers to UNTSO in 1990 to being the second largest contributor to the UN peacekeeping budget and the top contributor of peacekeepers among the P5 of security council, China has sent nearly 50,000 peacekeepers to 25 UN peacekeeping operations. In this cause, the Chinese units have built and rehabilitated more than 18,000 kilometers of roads and 300 bridges, disposed of more than 16,000 landmines and unexploded ordnance, transported over 1.2 million tons of materials and equipment over a total distance of 13 million kilometers, provided medical services to over 254,000 sick and wounded people, and 16 servicemen sacrificed their precious lives. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the Chinese military has sent medical supplies and expert teams to many countries’ armed forces, providing assistance to the best of its ability to developing countries, making positive contributions to humanity's victory over the pandemic, demonstrating with practical actions the responsibility of a major country in the new era.

Over more than 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Finland, the two countries have always shown mutual respect and candidness, maintained exchanges and mutual learning, benefited from win-win cooperation, achieving fruitful results in various areas.
