On 26 September, H.E. Ambassador Wang Tongqing hosted a reception in celebration of the 74th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 73rd Anniversary of the establishment of China-Finland diplomatic relations. H.E. Mr. Jussi Halla-Aho, Speaker of the Finnish Parliament, together with around 200 guests from different sectors of Finland, heads of missions of diplomatic corps accredited to Finland, and representatives from Chinese communities including Chinese enterprises and students in Finland attended the event.

    H.E. Ambassador Wang delivered a warm speech, in which he reviewed China’s achievements in the last 74 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, introduced with facts and figures the fundamentals of the Chinese economy characterised by strong resilience, enormous potential, great vitality and long-term sustainability, pointing out that China will remain firm in advancing high-standard opening-up and continue to be a force for world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of the international order; that China will work in joint efforts with Finland to continue promoting dialogues, exchanges and cooperation on all fronts, to join hands to address global challenges, and to inject more positive impetus into world peace, stability and development.

    The reception was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Guests congratulated the 74th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 73 years of China-Finland diplomatic relations, spoke highly of the achievements of China’s development and of China-Finland bilateral relations, and expressed their commitment to further promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
