On 16 October, Ambassador Wang Tongqing met Elina Valtonen, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland. The two exchanged views on China-Finland relations and issues of common interest.

    Ambassador Wang said that Finland was among the first to establish diplomatic ties with the People’s Republic of China, and a long-term stable and friendly China-Finland relationship has accompanied the development process of the PRC. Under new circumstances, China and Finland should strengthen consultation, exchanges and cooperation, and should handle global challenges together.

    Minister Valtonen said that Finland-China relations have remained stable and constructive for long. In current situation, it is very important that Finland and China enhance exchanges and dialogues.
