Ambassador Wang Tongqing Meets Minister of Economic Affairs Wille Rydman

    On 27 October, Ambassador Wang Tongqing met with Wille Rydman, Minister of Economic Affairs of Finland. The two exchanged views on promoting the bilateral cooperation in economy, trade, investment, scientific and technological innovation and other fields.

    Minister Rydman noted that China is an important trade partner of Finland and that Finland stands ready to continue advancing exchanges and cooperation with China in fields including climate change, low carbon and environmental protection, sustainable development, circular economy and medical technology. He said that Finland is happy to see the successful convention of the 20th China-Finland Joint Committee Meeting on Scientific and Technological Cooperation held recently and that Finland looks forward to participating the Sixth China International Import Expo.

    While noting that Finland is one of the first countries establishing diplomatic relations with China, Ambassador Wang pointed out that the two countries have long witnessed the steady development of the bilateral relations and fruitful cooperation outcomes in various fields, which have benefited both countries and peoples. He emphasized that China would open its door even wider to the rest of the world, as demonstrated by the success of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and the 20th China-Finland Joint Committee Meeting on Scientific and Technological Cooperation held recently. He noted that while China is committed to improving its business environment, it is hoped that Finland also provide facilitation for the investment and operation of Chinese enterprises in Finland, so as to make further efforts to deepen the bilateral practical cooperation in economy, trade, investment, scientific and technological innovation, etc. Ambassador Wang also conveyed that China welcomes Finland to participate the Sixth China International Import Expo.
