On September 24, Chinese Ambassador to Finland Wang Tongqing hosted a reception at the embassy to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The reception was attended by the Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Jussi Halla-aho, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Sari Essayah, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Esa Pulkkinen, Director of Legal Affairs of the Office of the President and Advisor to President Juha Rainne, Diplomatic Advisor to Prime Minister Marja Koskela and guests from various sectors of Finland, heads of missions of diplomatic corps, and representatives from Chinese communities including Chinese enterprises and students in Finland.
In his remarks, Ambassador Wang reviewed China's remarkable achievements in the past 75 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, expounding on the bright prospects of the Chinese economy. He briefed the audience about the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, noting that China would further deepen reform across the board, push forward Chinese modernization and continue to unswervingly promote high-level opening up, thus bringing new opportunities for the common development of all countries around the world.
Ambassador Wang noted that over the past 74 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Finland, the two countries have been developing their relations based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutually beneficial cooperation, and China-Finland bilateral relations have all along maintained a good momentum of development with fruitful results in various fields. Next year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries. China stands ready to continue our friendship with Finland, expand our exchanges at all levels and deepen our practical cooperation in various fields. China is willing to work together with countries in the world including Finland to safeguard world peace and development and build an even closer community with a shared future for mankind.
