On April 29, Ambassador Wang Tongqing attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Easpring Finland New Materials Oy in Kotka and delivered a speech. The event was also attended by Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs Wille Rydman, along with other government officials, local representatives, and business leaders.
In his speech, Ambassador Wang highlighted that the Easpring Finland New Material Kotka CAM project not only represents yet another outcome of the cooperation between China and Finland in the field of new energy, but also is a significant tribute dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two nations. He stressed that as both China and Finland support multilateralism and global trade, and both are committed to promoting green development, China stands ready to work with Finland in strengthening the strategic communication and policy coordination with each other, in continuously enhancing mutual trust, in jointly addressing global challenges and in injecting more certainty and stability into the current volatile world, in a bid to achieve our sustainable economic development.
Ambassador Wang also exchanged ideas with Sami Virtanen, Chairman of Kotka City Board, and Dr. Heikki Saastamoinen, President of the South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences on issues including strengthening local exchanges and educational cooperation. He also visited the MM Kotkamills Factory, new campus of the Southeast University of Applied Science in Kotka, and the City's Performing Arts Center, upon the latters’ invitation. Gui Yun, Counsellor in charge of economic and commercial affairs, among others, accompanied the relevant events.
