On October 16th, Ambassador Wang Tongqing visited Vaasa at the invitation of the hosts, during which he had a group meeting with Chair of the City Council Frans Villanen, Mayor Tomas Häyry, Regional Mayor of Ostrobothnia Mats Brandt, Mayor of Korsholm Rurik Ahlberg, and CEO of Wärtsilä Finland Oy Hannu Mäntymaa. During the visit, Ambassador Wang learned about the social and economic development and strategic planning of the two cities and the region, as well as Wärtsilä’s growth history and operation in China, and exchanged views with the Finnish party on promoting the practical cooperation between China and Finland. Both parties expressed their willingness to continue enhancing their close sub-national exchanges, deepen their mutual learning and make more progress in launching cooperation projects in practical fields, so as to further explore new opportunities of exchange and cooperation in various fields.
