On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Finland (October 28), the Chinese embassy in Finland held “Open Day” events for Finnish primary and middle school students on October 27 and 31, respectively, when over 100 people, including students and some teachers from Kulosaari Secondary School, Espoonlahti Upper Secondary School and Meilahti Primary School participated in the events.
During the events, teachers and students visited the main building of the embassy, listened attentively to the briefings on China, China-Finland relations, and especially on the achievements of their bilateral relations over the past 75 years, as well as those on the history of the embassy. They actively participated in interactive Q&A sessions about China, experienced the playing of the Bianzhong(chime bells), enthusiastically wrote their Chinese names with the calligraphy brush, tasted Chinese-style snacks and took photos. They were so immersed in the friendly and warm atmosphere at the “Open Day” events that they were reluctant to leave. Students expressed their willingness to learn Chinese better and look forward to participating in cultural exchange programs between the two countries and visiting China soon to experience China’s development achievements and unique cultural charm there.
