Ambassador Wang Tongqing in recent days paid farewell calls on President Alexander Stubb, Speaker of the Parliament Jussi Halla-aho, Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen and other Finnish political dignitaries.
Finland spoke positively of Ambassador Wang’s contributions to the development of Finland-China relations during his tenure, stating that the Finnish President, Speaker of Parliament and Prime Minister had visited China successively in last three years, during which they reached important consensus with the Chinese leaders on promoting bilateral relations. Finland emphasized that Finland attaches great importance to its relations with China, and stands ready to enhance the continuous development of Finland-China relations and achieve new outcomes in practical cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Wang expressed appreciation for Finland’s support and assistance in the performance of his duties. He emphasized that China cherishes its traditional friendship with Finland and stands ready to join hands and push forward the sound and steady development of bilateral relations, by upholding the principles of mutual respect, equality, a future-oriented approach and mutually beneficial cooperation.
