On April 29, Mr. Chen Huixin, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy, attended and addressed the 2026 Graduation Ceremony of the Hebei University of Technology (HEBUT) Finland Campus. Vice President of HEBUT Dr. Lang Liying, Vice Rector of HEBUT’s Finnish Partner LUT Ms. Jaana Sandstrom, Chair of the City Council of Lappeenranta Mr. Joonas Grönlund also joined the one-hundred-strong graduate in the ceremony.

Mr. Chen extended his warm congratulations to all the graduates and for the fruitful outcomes of the joint program of HEBUT and LUT. He noted that China-Finland relations have been developing in a positive momentum and both parties have been actively implementing the series of important consensus reached by the state leaders of the two countries particularly those in the field of education cooperation. He expressed his hope that the two universities, together with all walks of China and Finland, continue to engage in education and other various cooperation for the sustained, healthy and stable development of China-Finland relations.
In their remarks, the Vice President/Rector and Mr. Joonas Grönlund highly commended China-Finland relations and their education and other cooperation, encouraging all graduates to contribute their wisdom and strength to global development at large as well as to the practical cooperation between China and Finland.
