Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Chen Huixin Meets with Salima Peippo, Director of the Kuopio Dance Festival in Finland

On April 22, Mr. Chen Huixin, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy, met with Ms. Salima Peippo, Director of the Kuopio Dance Festival of Finland. The two exchanged views on China-Finland performing arts cooperation, among other broad topics.

Mr. Chen briefed the visitor on China-Finland relations, noting that in recent years, Finnish President Stubb, Speaker of Parliament Hala-Aho and Prime Minister Orpo have visited China successively, leading to a continuous deepening of exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in various fields. Currently, both parties are jointly implementing TheJoint Action Plan between China and Finland (2025-2029)released during President Stubb's state visit to China, in particular contents in cultural aspects supporting and encouraging exchanges and cooperation between theaters and arts festivals of the two countries. He hopes that the Kuopio Dance Festival can play a role in this regard, and actively promote cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, enrich the contents of China-Finlandrelations and promote the implementation of the "Global Civilization Initiative" in Finland.

Ms. Salima said that the Kuopio Dance Festival is the largest and oldest in Nordic countries, that she looked forward to the opportunity to visit China to exchangewith and learn from Chinese art institutions and artists, so as to jointly promote cultural exchanges between Finland and China.
