On October 28 at the 76th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Finland, the Chinese Embassy in Finland held “Open Day” event for the Young Finns Club of Ressu Secondary School. Mr. Chen Huixin, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy, attended the event and delivered his remarks. All members of the club and youth representatives of the Embassy participated in the event.

Mr. Chen first briefed the audience about the ongoing Fifth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the fabric of the history of the Taiwan question and the one-China principle and in particular the UN General Assembly Resolution 2758. He also briefed the audience about general principles of China’s foreign policy and the current state of China-Finland relations. Together with youth representatives of the Embassy, he then engaged in lively interaction with the club members who raised questions on China’s global roles, its relations with the West, China’s positions on NATO and relevant international and regional issues, exchanges and cooperation between China and Finland in fields across the board, as well as prospects of the artificial intelligence.

Club members expressed their appreciation for the Embassy’s “Open Day”, saying that they have benefited greatly therefrom. They also expressed their readiness to continue following the development of Finland-China relations and hope to contribute to the future development of the Finland-China bilateral relations.
