On April 23rd on the occasion of the 31st World Book Day, the 17th UN Chinese Language Day and the 1st “National Reading Week” of China, at the invitation of Spanish Embassy in Finland, Mr. Chen Huixin, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy, attended the first Helsinki Public Reading of Don Quixote de la Mancha in Oodi Library and read a paragraph of the Spanish Classic Literature in Chinese.

Mr. Manuel Montobbio, Spanish Ambassador to Finland, thanked foreign diplomats and readers from all walks of life of Finland for their participation in the event. He emphasized that Don Quixote de la Mancha is not only an immortal piece of Spanish literature, but also an important component of the world literature. He hoped that the public reading event would further promote the exchange and mutual learning of cultures and civilizations of different countries, making its contribution for the prosperity of the garden of world civilizations.
