President Xi Jinping Appoints New Ambassadors

Recently, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping announced the appointment of the following new Ambassadors in line with decisions adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress:

I. Liu Jinsong was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, replacing Yao Jing.

II. Cheng Xueyuan was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, replacing Yi Xianliang.

III. Huang Xilian was appointed Head of the Chinese Mission and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations, replacing Xu Bu.

IV. Xu Bu was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Chile, replacing Li Baorong.

V. Li Chao was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Estonia, replacing Qu Zhe.

VI. Qian Bo was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Fiji, replacing Zhang Ping.

VII. Yan Xiusheng was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Barbados, replacing Wang Ke (female).
